Executive Director, Private Wealth Advisor
Anja Luesink is an Executive Director, Private Wealth Advisor working in the NY office. She helps her clients navigate through their financial life with clarity and confidence, while seeking to build a secure financial future.
Anja started her own financial planning firm in 2008. In 2014, she co-founded Luesink Stenstrom Financial with Clare Stenstrom, the fee-only independent firm that joined Verdence in 2026.
Anja’s path into financial planning began after moving from Europe to the US and wanting to better understand her own finances. She received the Certified Financial Planner® designation, worked at financial companies and also taught retirement classes at NY University. Financial planning became a passion, and she wanted to help others with it.
Anja takes a holistic approach to financial planning. She believes money has both a technical and a personal side, and that understanding both is equally important and complex, but it is the personal side that drives decision-making. Her training in Financial Life Planning at the Kinder Institute and as a Certified Financial Transitionist® make her able to guide clients through challenging times of their lives and help them move forward with greater confidence.
She also works with globally connected clients, mostly Europeans living in the US with cross-border issues. She trained in this area at the Global Financial Planning Institute.
Anja has been an active member of NAPFA for many years and served on the board of the Financial Planning Association’s New York chapter. She and Clare Stenstrom co-created a curriculum, still in use today, for pro bono financial education programs serving domestic violence survivors, community colleges, homeless shelters, and other community organizations. Anja continues this pro bono work when she can, giving webinars and presentations on financial topics for community groups.
Anja lives in Riverdale, NY, and spends time at a weekend home with a large garden in Columbia County, NY.
