Verdence Expands, Rebrands OCIO Service
A New Name, A Broader Platform
Verdence Capital Advisors rebranded its outsourced investment division in April 2024. Formerly known as Verdence/OCIO, the updated platform is now Verdence/RIA+. The rebrand reflects a deliberate expansion from investment outsourced RIA services into a fuller service model for independent RIAs. Solo practices and small to mid-sized advisory firms are the primary audience.
What Verdence/RIA+ Offers
Verdence/RIA+ retains the investment management capabilities of its predecessor. Advisors still access private markets, research, educational content, and due diligence. The expanded platform adds RIA succession planning, continuity planning, financial planning resources, compliance support, and back-office services. These additions address the operational and transition needs that many independent advisors have not resolved for their own practices.
The Leadership Behind the Expansion
Peter McGratty leads the platform as director of Verdence/RIA+. He joined Verdence in November 2023 and took the director role in February 2024. McGratty co-founded Pinnacle Advisor Solutions in 2009 and later served as a managing partner at Precursor Asset Management. His focus is helping RIA partners run more efficient businesses, strengthen client relationships, and plan for their own eventual transitions.
Why Succession Planning Now
Many advisory firm principals are approaching retirement. Planning for that transition is a practical concern the industry has not fully addressed. Verdence/RIA+ is structured to help firms work through succession alongside their other operational needs. CEO Leo Kelly has described the rebrand as a response to where the advisory industry is heading.
About Verdence Capital Advisors
Verdence Capital Advisors manages approximately $3.3 billion in assets. Emigrant Partners backs the firm. Leo Kelly, who founded Verdence in 2017, holds a majority ownership stake. For independent RIAs evaluating outsourced RIA services and succession planning resources, Verdence/RIA+ offers a broader set of options than most investment-only outsourcing relationships provide.
