Verdence Capital Advisors Expands Sports and Entertainment Division

Noel LaMontagne joins as Verdence Sets its Sights on the West Coast

Baltimore, MD – March 20, 2019Verdence Capital Advisors, a nationally-recognized private wealth advisory and multi-family office firm, today announced that Noel LaMontagne has joined the firm in Los Angeles – its first presence on the West Coast – as a Client Relationship Manager, focusing on Sports and Entertainment.

Mr. LaMontagne joins Verdence’s established Sports and Entertainment practice, led by Managing Director and Partner, Rich Rosa, who previously worked with Mr. LaMontagne in the sports and entertainment representation industry.

“I’ve known Noel for many years and understand exactly how much he’ll bring to the table working with our Sports and Entertainment clients,” said Rich Rosa. “In his one and a half decades in the client services industry, Noel has shown a truly genuine capacity to care for people, proving himself to be an incredible asset to his teams, and we look forward to having him join ours.”

Following his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, Mr. LaMontagne spent more than 15 years as a sports advisor, most recently at Compass Sports Advisors, where he continues to work as a Player Representative. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with a focus on business and law, from the University of Virginia, and later conducted his graduate studies in Education and Administration at the Curry School of Education.

He sees this career move as a natural expansion of the work he’s already been doing for his professional sports clients for years. When advising young athletes, Noel’s professional relationship ended as his clients’ athletic careers came to a close; however, his personal relationships always endured as former clients continued to seek out his advice navigating difficult life decisions, especially financial ones. Now, he’s able to provide that same lifelong guidance with the added benefit of having a wealth advisory firm behind him.

Said Mr. LaMontagne, “After spending years supporting professional athletes’ transition into the next chapter of their lives, joining Verdence seemed like the ideal next step in my own career, giving me the ability to offer even more comprehensive services to my clients, both existing and new. With Verdence’s resources, I’m able to provide clients with all the tools they need when it comes to business development, financial education from the most qualified wealth advisors, and more. In addition, I’m able to offer this level of support through every phase of my clients’ lives, beyond the conclusions of their careers and into future generations. We’re in it for the long haul, and this profoundly impacts our relationships with our clients because they know they can always rely on us.”

This move also plants Verdence’s flag on the West Coast and is part of the firm’s larger plan to continue expanding its national footprint.

“We’re beyond excited to have Noel join the firm,” said Leo Kelly, CEO and Founder of Verdence Capital Advisors. “Our growth strategy since day one has been focused on adding the right people for the right reasons, and Noel checks both of those boxes. He brings extensive experience guiding elite athletes through major life changes. At Verdence, we always aim to go above and beyond what it means to be an advisor, acting as advocates for our clients across the board, and Noel embodies that commitment.”
