Primary Purpose of the Position

Verdence is in search of an experienced Bookkeeper to support several ultra-high net worth clients in the firm’s family office division branded Verdence/Family.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bill pay, reconciling ledgers, retaining documents, tracking spending, assisting with tax preparation, and producing a host of reports for clients. Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day personal and entity bill pay for ultra-high net worth clients
  • Handle bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as household employee payroll processing
  • Retain documents and invoices electronically to preserve historical records
  • Track and update clients’ real assets valuations (Real Estate, Aircraft, Marine, Automobiles, Artwork, Wine, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison to the client’s CPA for tax preparation and filing
  • Keep detailed personal and business private aviation flight records for tax purposes
  • Manage client spending records in QuickBooks and perform detailed analysis of trends
  • Perform customized reporting by client for:
    • Charitable donations
    • Political contributions
    • Rental properties
    • Construction projects
    • Trusts and partnerships 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
  • 2-5 years of work experience in a bookkeeping or a related role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entries
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, project, and deadlines
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
  • Proven ability to develop and improve upon processes
  • Effective interpersonal skills as the role requires direct communication with key clients
  • MS Excel and QuickBooks experience required
  • com familiarity or certification a plus
